There are several research areas at FLACP, including

The research activities are currently organized along the following projects:
- SNoWNet - Securely extending local networks and hotspots through self-organizing, wireless network routers.
- Task Computing - Enabling users to
dynamically compose applications from available service functionality using semantic descriptions.
- Bio-STEER - An application of Task Computing Technology in a bioinformatics domain, leveraging several bioinformatics web services, grid services, and web-based applications.
- M-Commerce (Wireless Wallet) - Wireless ordering and purchasing at
retail locations using a mobile device
e-voting: (e-government application)
- Grid Computing - Providing Data Grid and Service Grid technologies
for Fujitsu's Grid Computing innovation.
- Location-based Services - Employing indoor and outdoor location information to
enhance information delivery to users and to track objects.
- Remote Lectures Over High-speed Internet - Digital Video using IPv6 over the
Internet2 form the basis for remote lectures and video-conferencing between the US and Asia as part of a
collaboration with the Japanese School on Internet (SOI)
project.
